I'm going to donate blood - and what about you?
Directly from the workplace to donate blood - and SAVE LIVES!
Many patients in Austria's hospitals are in urgent need of it: Accidents, operations and births - blood saves lives every day.
Any one of us can unexpectedly find ourselves in the situation of being dependent on a life-saving blood donation. A large number of blood reserves are also needed for the treatment of cancer patients.
This is why DIGITAL MILE Linz - together with the Red Cross blood donation service - invites people to donate blood at regular intervals. But that's not all - we are also committed to ensuring that even more people can donate blood.
Blood donation campaign goes Blood donation
Donating blood should be possible for anyone in Austria who wants to donate. Our IT companies at DIGITAL MILE Linz employ many international specialists. These internationals also want to register as donors for our regularly organized blood drives. Unfortunately, the legal situation (Blood Donor Ordinance and the Blood Safety Act) in Austria is currently such that German must be spoken and written in order to be allowed to donate blood.
We have already raised this issue in several places and the wheels are turning slowly, but they are turning. The Red Cross is already working flat out on new forms, English versions of the app and staff training, so we hope that we won't have to turn away any more blood donors in the near future!
